Vladimir Yordanov

Vladimir Yordanov is an international higher education leader and advisor with more than 15 years of experience in international education, partnership development, institutional growth and global engagement.

​

He currently serves as Deputy Executive Director of the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), the Bulgarian National Agency responsible for Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps. In this role, he supports international cooperation, innovation and capacity building across the education, youth and sport sectors.

​

Throughout his career, Vladimir has held senior leadership positions within higher education institutions and international education organisations in both the United Kingdom and Europe. His expertise spans internationalisation strategy, transnational education (TNE), international student recruitment, partnership development, market expansion and cross-border collaboration.

​

Prior to joining HRDC, he held leadership roles with Coventry University, Gisma University of Applied Sciences, Keele University and the International Business School in Sofia, leading international development initiatives and establishing partnerships across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and emerging education markets.

​

Alongside his institutional experience, Vladimir has advised universities and educational organisations on strategic growth, international engagement and global partnership development. His work has supported the creation of international collaborations, student mobility opportunities and innovative educational initiatives connecting institutions across different regions of the world.

​

Vladimir is currently pursuing a PhD at Sofia University, focusing on global leadership and the internationalisation of higher education. His professional interests include international education policy, university partnerships, transnational education and the future development of higher education in an increasingly interconnected world.
